Make it yours.
These instructions cover the updated workout build for Android and iPhone. Older timer-only versions have fewer features; labels can differ between platforms.
01 / Build a workout
- Open Workouts and choose New (or create your first workout). Give it a name.
- Choose Add exercises or browse the Library. Search by name, equipment or muscle.
- Add a movement and choose the number of sets. You can enter reps/time and weight later, when logging.
- Use the workout’s edit controls to change order, exclude a movement or adjust advanced settings such as timed sets, target ranges, sides and rest.
For a custom name, create a custom exercise. Choose its muscles yourself, link a known movement only if it really matches, or leave it unmapped. A different name alone does not establish the same technique.
02 / Train and log
- Start the workout. Enter the reps or seconds and weight you actually completed, then log the set.
- For separate-sided exercises, log each side. A complete set requires both sides.
- Adjust rest when you need to. Reaching zero means you’re ready to continue; it doesn’t automatically log a workout set.
- Pause if you take a break. Finish normally, or end early to save only the sets you logged.
For exercises using two weights, the load field is per weight. Check the label before entering a result. History is based on actual logged values, not just planned targets.
03 / Review your history
Tap History for the session list, then choose a workout to see its details. Compare planned and completed muscle coverage. Tap a result to correct its reps/time or weight; the saved plan is unchanged.
Workouts are stored locally. There is no Rest.Set. cloud account or built-in workout export in the current version. Do not clear storage or uninstall as a troubleshooting step if you need to keep your records.
04 / Use the timer on its own
Android: Quick Timer offers Rest countdown and Interval timer. Yellow indicates the selected mode. Use the countdown for a single rest period, or intervals for repeated work/rest phases. Intervals can use timed or untimed work, a set count (zero means unlimited), and manual or automatic advancement.
iPhone: Quick Timer opens the original interval setup. Choose your sets, work and rest options, then start.
Use full-screen/focus controls for a larger clock. In Android’s background, the current interval can alert once; later interval transitions catch up when you return. Keep intervals open for continuous automatic interval cues.
Troubleshooting
I can’t hear the timer
Check device volume, Silent/Do Not Disturb and notification settings. On Android, allow notifications and Alarms & reminders when requested, and check the timer notification channel’s sound and notification volume. Battery restrictions can affect background delivery. Foreground cues count down 2–1–0; background alerts use the finish sound.
My custom exercise has no muscle map
Unmapped is intentional when no mapping has been supplied. It does not mean the exercise works no muscles. You can still log it normally.
How do I remove my data?
Delete unwanted plans using their menu. Saved history is separate. On Android, clearing app storage removes all local Rest.Set. records. On iPhone, deleting—not offloading—the app removes its local data. Device backups may retain copies; manage those separately. These actions can permanently remove training records.
Something else isn’t working
